Kalesa Ride

Hot hot hot, whew.. what else is new? Its summertime in the Philippines! Time for vacation and the kids are all out of school. In this corner its the MYL's kids activities, photos and videos. Yza, Ykhee, and Ykho are off to their adventures. :-)

First off, Ykho's first time riding a kalesa on the street of downtown Manila within Chinatown. Together with her older sister Yza the two went off and took a ride from Binondo's Church up to the ManuLife Building office in Dasmarinas Street. The video taken with a Mobile phone camera.

Ykho: "Ayun, kabayo! Sakay tayo dun... kabayo!" (Overthere.. a horse! Lets take a ride! Horse!)

When it was over we went down the Kalesa and took some shots besides the horse. Ykho really had fun riding. :-)

A kalesa, sometimes called a karitela, is a horse-driven carriage used in the Philippines. The word, also spelled calesa, predates the Spanish Conquest and descends ultimately from an Old Church Slavonic word meaning "wheels."

Next stuff.... To be continued.. :-)
